Meet Lauren
Our head trainer Lauren grew up in the north of England and emigrated to California in May 2022. She has been riding since the age of 3 and began competing regularly in various disciplines from the age of 8. Both of her parents are accomplished trainers in their own right, so needless to say horses run in her blood. Lauren is well schooled in dressage, show jumping, and eventing as well as groundwork and has even been known to take to the trails!
In her own words, “I find that we can learn as much from our horses as we can from our coaches, if not more and I encourage my students to really develop their “feel” and understand not only how horses work by the book, but how to take their individual differences and use them develop problem solving skills that will stay with them in their journey as an equestrian. Seeing the moment a rider falls in love with being in the saddle is so rewarding and I do everything I can to help make that happen. My main focus is helping to establish confidence and trust between horse and rider both on the ground and in the saddle.”
She is a big fan of keeping riding and training FUN!
Our Horses
Romeo
Thoroughbred Gelding | Age: 12 years | Height: 16.3h | Disciplines: Dressage, Jumping
Romeo is Lauren’s personal horse, however many students get the opportunity to ride this gentle giant. He’s an ex-racer but don’t let that fool you, Romeo is a calm and loving boy who takes great care of riders of all ages and abilities.
Romeo’s favorite things are cuddles, snacks and going for a nice roll in the sand!
Zira
Thoroughbred Mare | Age: 6 years | Height:15.2 | Disciplines: Jumping, Flat
This 6-year-old Thoroughbred horse mare stands at 15.2 hands and combines athleticism with a kind, willing personality. Brave, playful, and full of heart, she approaches new experiences with confidence and curiosity. She loves to jump and shows natural enthusiasm and talent over fences, making her a fun and forward ride. Eager to please, she works well with strong connections with her riders and thrives on their confidence and partnership. With her sensible mind, energetic spirit, and affectionate nature, she is a wonderful prospect for a rider looking for a talented and enjoyable companion both in and out of the saddle.
Outlaw Jessie James
Appaloosa Gelding | Age: 12 years | Height: 17.2h | Disciplines: Jumping, Trail
This handsome horse is a striking appaloosa with a unique spotted coat and a curious, gentle expression. He loves to jump, snack on treats, and snuggle up with his favorite people. Brave and friendly, he’s always ready for an adventure or a quiet moment of affection in the barn.
Icarus
Thoroughbred Gelding | Age: 9 years | Height: 16.2h | Disciplines: Jumping, Dressage
Scope, scope, scope! That’s what we can say about Icarus! He loves jumping, and we’ve yet to find his limit. For our advanced riders, Icarus excels when paired with a confident seat who is ready to soar!
Icarus’s favorite things are meeting other horses, jumping, and grazing!
